Katelynn Main, DO
Hello! My name is Kate Main. I am originally from Cherryvale, Kansas, a small town in southeast Kansas two and a half hours west of Springfield! I have a younger brother who is one of my best friends. We were spoiled with the freedom of growing up out in the country and I hope to live on a farm one day. After high school, I attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS were I studied biology/chemistry and public health. I also met my husband, Nick, at Pitt State; he was a football player. From Pitt State I moved south to Fort Smith, AR to attend Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. I spent the first two years of medical school in Fort Smith and I spent my last two in Rogers, AR. I absolutely fell in love with the Ozarks and knew it was somewhere I wanted to stay long term.
After living and working in rural areas growing up, I noticed many health disparities that needed attention. Family medicine is such a broad scope of practice that gives a physician the best tools to bring back to an area in need! This is one of the many reasons I chose this specialty. Some of my specific interests are sports medicine, preventative medicine and dermatology! Choosing CoxHealth Family Medicine was the easiest thing that I have done during my medical journey. The people, facilities and learning opportunities are truly amazing. When you walk into a hospital and instantly feel at home, says something about the organization and community!
Aside from medicine, I am a rock concert junkie, an outdoor enthusiast and a sucker for a good vampire TV series! I have hiked many of the national parks out west, including Glacier, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Olympic and Grand Teton, to name a few! My husband recently graduated from chiropractic school. I am extremely excited to continue my medical training with CoxHealth Family Medicine, and hopefully spend some free time floating rivers, skiing Table Rock, and exploring the Ozarks!
