Springfield Obstetrical Emergency Department (ED)

Cox Medical Center South in Springfield offers an OB emergency department within the Labor and Delivery Unit. Our in-house, board-certified OB-GYNs are available to evaluate pregnancy emergencies. The OB emergency department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Common issues cared for in our OB ED include preterm labor, abnormal vaginal bleeding, ruptured membranes, labor checks, decreased fetal movement and increased blood pressure.

If you’re experiencing a medical emergency not directly related to your pregnancy, you should go to the nearest emergency department or call 911.
