Driving Rehabilitation Program
Safe driving at any age for those with disabilities or age-related impairments.
Our goal? To keep you independently mobile. The Driving Rehabilitation Program, designed for personal vehicles and noncommercial drivers, can help.
Our program includes three components: A full evaluation and assessment of your physical, congitive and visual skills; a behind-the-wheel evaluation; and driving training and education. All administered by a specially trained driving rehabilitation therapist who is a licensed occupational therapist.
Steps
- Clinical evaluation: During this two-hour period, we'll assess your physical, visual and cognitive skills and abilities. This assessment occurs in a clinic. If you meet the criteria, we'll schedule step 2.
- Behind-the-wheel evaluation: This evaluation is designed to assess your driving skills, safety and any adaptive equipment or vehicle modifications you may need. From this, we'll determine your need for driver training and your capacity to drive.
- Driver training: Once the evaluation process is complete, you'll move on to driver training. We'll focus on all aspects of driving skill development, education, safety and more.
