We're a proud member of the Healthy Food Pantry Collaborative.

The Healthy Food Pantry Collaborative's mission is to unite area pantries and improve access to healthy food. Its efforts are made possible by these area organizations:

  • CoxHealth
  • University of Missouri-Extension
  • Crosslines
  • Victory Mission
  • WellSpring
  • Council of Churches
  • Central Assembly
  • Ozarks Regional Food Policy Council
  • Ozarks Food Harvest
The group is working to address access to healthy food, the overall health of pantry customers and basic needs across the community.

Through the collaborative, pantries are working to offer quality, nutrient-rich food to low-income people who have heart failure or diabetes, instead of the high-sodium, low-nutrient foods that are often available.

Two local pantries – Central Assembly Food Pantry and Crosslines – have created Healthy Choices areas that offer better options. Both pantries now use a client-choice model, which gives families more independence in shopping and lets them choose quality food that meets their specific needs.

Donating healthy food year-round is easy.

The collaborative recommends donating healthy foods to food pantries. You can do this easily by following these steps:
  1. Download a shopping list of foods that are low in sodium, sugar and fat, and are high in fiber.
  2. Bring your healthy food donations or send monetary donations to any of these pantries and help make a difference in the health of our community.
