Inpatient Psychiatric Care
Inpatient psychiatric care for patients in need
At CoxHealth, our inpatient psychiatric care helps stabilize immediate crises for patients in need. With inpatient care, patients are ensured to receive continuing mental health care in a less stressful and restrictive setting, and an individualized care plan to meet their specific needs.
Inpatient care services
We offer acute care inpatient psychiatry at Cox North Hospital and Cox Medical Center Branson. Inpatient care is available for those ages five and older who are experiencing a mental health crisis that cannot be managed with outpatient care.
If you or someone you know is experiencing an acute mental health crisis, we are here to help. To be evaluated for admission to one of our inpatient psychiatric units, please proceed to your nearest emergency room for evaluation or call 911.
Our treatment approach
Acute symptoms are stabilized during the hospital stay using a combination of medication, group and individual therapy, family therapy for those under 18 years old, and other behavioral interventions. Consultation with other specialists and discipline will occur as needed.
Our interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatrist nurses, psychiatric social workers, recreational therapists, and psychiatric technicians evaluate each patient and work together to develop a comprehensive plan of care. We work to meet each patient's specific needs while recognizing their individuality, dignity and rights.
Visiting hours are available each day.
