Diabetes Classes

CoxHealth offers support and education for everyone with Type 1, Type 2, gestational and prediabetes.

Classes are taught by CDCES, RNs, RDs and Licensed Professional Counselors. For classes that require a doctor's order, we can contact your doctor to request one.

Please call 417-269-3900 for class dates and times, and information on classes available at each location. Payment for classes may be covered by Medicare, private pay or insurance. Grant/scholarship money is available for those who qualify.

Diabetes Classes

Diabetes Self-Management

Up to ten hours of education that covers everything about managing your condition, from diagnosis to meal planning. A physician referral is required.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

A one-on-one session with a registered dietitian. Physician referral is required. Ask your provider for more information.

Gestational Diabetes Education

We tailor this program to meet your specific needs. Physician referral is required, so talk to your provider if you're interested.

Prediabetes Management

Discover the fundamentals of prediabetes and diabetes prevention and treatment in this free class. Embrace an inclusive 'All Foods Fit' model that empowers you to make healthier choices for a balanced lifestyle. Call 417-269-3900 to register.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring

Wear a monitor for at least a week. Our diabetes professionals will download the data to help you manage your blood sugar. Physician referral is required. Talk to your doctor to find out more.

Support Groups

Share your experiences and learn from others who have diabetes. Groups are led by diabetes educators. Call 417-269-3900 for more information.

Diabetes Prevention Program

Receive support from a trained lifestyle coach, fitness instructor, and peers working toward similar goals in this year-long program. Provides hands-on experience with nutrition education, physical activity, and stress management. Call 417-635-4562 for more information.
