Rachel Brown, DO

Hi! I’m Rachel. I was born and raised in Newark, Delaware, and up until now, have been an East Coaster all my life. I’m from a small tight-knit family made up of my parents, sister and my three tuxedo cats, Oscar Wilde, Romeo and Stella. In case you don’t know much about Delaware, it’s the second smallest state, sandwiched between Pennsylvania and Maryland and our state bird (and university mascot) is the blue hen.

I went to the University of Delaware where I majored in biology and French. Between graduating and starting medical school I worked in clinical research. I moved about an hour up the highway from Delaware to Philadelphia where I attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I knew that I wanted to do full-scope family medicine, so I started looking for residency programs that would truly offer broad training. I rotated at CoxHealth FMR early in my fourth year and absolutely loved the program and the people here! When I came back for my interview, I truly felt like I was coming home, which solidified for me that CoxHealth FMR was where I belonged!

In my free time, you can usually find me doing a puzzle, spending time with my cats or cooking. I have a passion for pasta and ice cream. We don’t have Andy’s on the East Coast, so that was a great find when I came out to Missouri! I spent a year living in France, so I love traveling and seeing new parts of both the U.S. and other countries. I’m very much looking forward to getting to know Springfield better and exploring the Ozarks over the next three years!
