Kevin Martin, DO

Hello! My name is Kevin Martin. I'm a Missouri native, born in Chillicothe, MO, and raised in rural central west Missouri for most of my life. After high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed with 2/7 in 29 Palms, California, as a rifleman. After serving in the USMC, I completed my undergraduate studies at Missouri State University here in Springfield. I attended medical school at AT Still University in Kirksville, MO.

Growing up in rural Missouri, I had the opportunity to see how impactful a small-town family physician can be within a community. Family medicine to me is about developing long-term relationships with my patients, listening to their concerns and being their advocate within the health care system. I spent my clinical rotation years of medical school rotating through clinics and hospital systems around Springfield, MO, and while doing so, I knew CoxHealth was the place for me. The attending physicians, residents and staff are all passionate about patient-centered care and teaching the next generation of physicians.

My wife, Jodie, and I have been married since 2011 and share three beautiful children. Outside of work, you'll most likely catch me outdoors hunting or fishing with family and friends. If I'm not hunting or fishing, then I can be found biking, woodworking or at the lake boating. We are so excited to be part of the team here at CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency and look forward to better serving the community here in Southwest Missouri!
