I was born and raised on a farm and cattle ranch outside of Hoxie, KS. I learned from an early age that hard work and determination are the main traits necessary to succeed in life. This upbringing also engrained in me a passion for rural living that has driven me to my role now as a family medicine physician. My adult life started with a 4 year jaunt as a collegiate athlete and I ultimately graduated with a degree in Comprehensive Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry from the University of Nebraska Kearney. From there my passion for the rural way of life and medicine came together as I attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine on the Salina campus. I chose family medicine because of the breadth of medical knowledge and procedural training that is involved with a full scope family medicine practice. I chose to continue my medical training at CoxHealth FMR because of its unopposed nature, large patient population, great opportunity for procedures, and the people that make the program what it is.
I share my home with my beautiful wife, Kim, and our strapping young son, Elliott. Spending time with my family is at the top of the list of things I enjoy to do with my free time, but also making the cut is working out (especially weight training), woodworking, playing the piano, any kind of sport, and last but certainly not least, brewing beer.
