Blessy Joseph, DO

Hi! I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, spent my high school years in India, and moved to the United States at the age of 17. I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and my Doctor of Osteopathic degree from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO. My hometown is Glendale Heights, IL.

I fell in love with medicine at a very young age. Being exposed to healthcare disparities in developing countries instilled a strong sense of purpose in me. The unique role of a family medicine physician to be able to take care of the healthcare needs of a wide variety of patient populations instantly drew me to family medicine. I consider it a privilege to be in this profession, which helps me to make a difference in people's lives every day.

During my 3rd year of medical school, I had the opportunity to do a clinical rotation at CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency. That rotation made me fall in love with this program. There is a strong sense of a nurturing family among the staff at this program and a holistic approach to patient care. There is no other place I would rather be trained. I am excited to be part of the CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency team!

In my free time you can find me cooking, gardening, or taking on volunteer projects/roles at church. Food and music is also a huge part of my life.
