Cox Monett welcomes two new orthopedic surgeons

Access to specialist care continues to grow for people living in rural communities in southwest Missouri.

Cox Monett Hospital is pleased to welcome orthopedic surgeons Dr. David Volgas and Dr. Lindsey Bravin to its health care team.

The orthopedic specialists are now seeing patients on Mondays at an outreach clinic located inside Cox Rehab and Sports Medicine, located at 700 E. Cleveland Ave., in Monett.

“We understand access to specialists can be an issue, and we want to take that burden away of people having to travel long distances,” said Jami Blackwell, director of Trauma Services at CoxHealth. “With the new hospital opening after the first of the year that will feature expanded surgical suites and the latest technology, the time was right to expand orthopedic care to this growing community.”

Services at the outreach clinic include general orthopedics, sports medicine and arthroplasty. Patients do not need a physician referral to be seen at the clinic.

When the new Cox Monett hospital opens, Drs. Volgas and Bravin will join Drs. Ken Carpenter, Erin Greer, and Boyd Crockett in seeing patients in Monett. The new orthopedic specialists plan to perform surgeries in Monett, including joint replacement surgery, once the new hospital opens.
