We interview applicants after all required application materials are received. Once interviews are completed, our admissions committee meets to review all information and compare evaluations of each applicant.

We assign weighted points to each component of the admission process:

  • cumulative GPA
  • science GPA
  • scholastic recommendations
  • handwritten statement of interest
  • personal interview.

This process allows for the establishment of a quantitative ranking system. The committee then chooses the students for the class and prepares an alternate list in the order of desirability. Any applicants deemed unacceptable are so noted.

The program director will notify you of your status: accepted, not accepted at this time but on the alternate list, and not accepted.

If you’re accepted, you’ll be asked to reply within a specified timeframe (usually one week) of your decision to accept or decline the position. If you decline, an applicant from the alternate list will be offered that spot.

Once the class has been filled, the program director will notify you of starting dates, uniform code, living arrangements, etc.
