Interventions for Dysrhythmia: Step Two
Who should take the course?
This course is designed for CoxHealth employees that provide care to patients with potential or known cardiac issues. Pre-Course Requirement: Successful completion of the Cardiac Dysrhythmia Interpretation: Step One course. THIS COURSE IS FOR COXHEALTH EMPLOYEES ONLY.
Course Covers
The Interventions for Dysrhythmias: Step Two course addresses the principles of care for the cardiac patient, including:
- Brief review of anatomy and physiology of the heart and the cardiac conduction system.
- Briefly explain cardiac impulse formation and conduction.
- Discuss dysrhythmia waveforms and correlates to nursing responses.
- Discuss indications for medicinal therapies related to drug use, action and dose.
- Discuss other substances and activities which may affect cardiac functioning.
Course Delivery
The course includes lecture and discussion. Students are encouraged to take part in discussion during the course.
