Two-Day Class for Cardiac Dysrhythmia Interpretation: Step One
Who should take the course?
This course is designed for CoxHealth employees that provide care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring. There are no pre-course requirements for this class. THIS COURSE IS FOR COXHEALTH EMPLOYEES ONLY.
Course Covers
The Cardiac Dysrhythmia Interpretation: Step One course addresses the principles of heart rhythm monitoring, including:
- Anatomy of the cardiac conduction system.
- Correct placement of telemetry monitor on the patient.
- Correlation of waveform, line segment, and interval patterns to physiologic events.
- Electrically interference patterns and resolution.
- Criteria descriptive of different cardiac pacemakers, including: sinus node, atrial, AV nodal, ventricular, and AV blocks. Then recognition of these pacemaker patterns via practice and testing.
Course Delivery
The course includes lecture and practice identifying different pacemakers given. A written test will be administered to participants at the end of the second day. A passing score of 80% is required for successful completion of this class.
