Job Summary
-
- An employee who has clinical expertise in the application of the nursing process and theory in the area of traumatology. Primary goals of the individual in this role include monitoring trauma care across the continuum from pre-hospital care to rehabilitation as it applies, through initial trauma activations, trauma rounds and chart review as well as performing collection of trauma patient outcome data. While also being a resource person for staff, communication with patient families and providers. In addition, this individual will participate in the planning and implementing of clinical protocols and practice guidelines related to trauma care. Serves as an internal resource for staff in all departments through trauma education, assists in the development and community education/injury prevention programs.

Required:
- Required: Graduate of an approved nursing program
- Required: Achieve and maintain 24 hours of trauma related education each year with 6 of those hours related to Pediatric Trauma
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in nursing

Experience
- Preferred: 3 years of trauma-related experience in a critical care area (ER, Prehospital, OR, ICU).

Skills
- Good public relation skills
- Excellent telephone skills
- Experienced with Microsoft Office

Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: MO RN License

Required:
- Nursing Certification or master's prepared within 1 year of hire
- (Certification in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Trauma Certified Registered Nurse or other related clinical specialty certification
- TNCC- within one year of hire
- ENPC- within one year of hire
- PALS- within one year of hire
- ACLS- within one year of hire
- Nursing Certification or master's prepared within 1 year of hire
