Job Description
This position is for nurses hired through our International Recruitment Program. Nurses who do not yet have their Missouri RN license will be hired into a Nurse Technician position while they work to obtain their Missouri license. Once they receive their Missouri RN license, they will move into an Experienced Nurse Resident position while they work through nursing orientation. Upon completing nursing orientation, the nurse will move into a regular Staff Nurse position. The Medical-Surgical Nurse Technician is responsible for providing basic patient care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures under the direction of the nursing staff. The Nurse Technician must be able to take vitals, bathe, dress, move patients, change linens and other duties as assigned. Additional duties include providing patients and families with support and education. The Medical-Surgical Nurse Technician obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff, and reports any changes in patient condition.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Graduate of an approved nursing program
Experience
Required: Minimum 1 year experience
Skills

- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: Must have passed NCLEX exam
- Required: Must have obtained Missouri or Compact State license within 180 day of hire
- Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days
- The Experienced Nurse Resident, under the supervision of a nurse, is responsible for managing the care of patients experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The Experienced Nurse Resident must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Medical-Surgical nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.
