Physician Opportunity: Breast Surgery
Job Description
CoxHealth is seeking a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified, fellowship-trained Breast Surgeon to join our renowned 15-surgeon general surgery group. This dynamic team includes specialists in bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, surgical oncology, and trauma/critical care. The group operates at a single large referral hospital, serving as the only general surgery group at this facility.
- Position Details:
- Practice Composition: 80% breast surgery (with the option for 100% breast surgery if preferred) and 20% general surgery.
- Breast Surgery Features: Trident intra-operative x-ray, in-office ultrasound, Aurora Breast MRI, automated whole breast ultrasound, Savi Scout partial breast radiation, and indocyanine green for sentinel node detection and flap vascularization.
- Procedures: Full spectrum of breast surgery and some general surgery procedures in an outpatient setting. Surgeons average 12-17 surgeries per week.
- Call Schedule: 1:6 for weekday and weekend call, with in-house trauma and colorectal surgeon coverage during acute events.

- Hospital: Cox South is a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Springfield, MO.
- Group: The general surgery group is a close-knit, surgeon-led team with very low turnover. We prioritize work-life balance and foster a collaborative environment with NP/PA support as the practice expands.
