Knot Forgotten program underway to honor those facing medical challenges

December 2, 2024 Newsroom

During the holiday season, many people look for meaningful ways to honor those who have battled or are still facing medical challenges, including cancer.

Through the CoxHealth Foundation’s Knot Forgotten program, ribbon “knots” (bows) can be purchased in honor or in memory of loved ones. Bows were originally procured for patients affected by cancer but can include any cause close to one’s heart.

Donors can purchase bows with a card attached including their loved one’s name and a personalized message on the CoxHealth Foundation’s website. Small bows are available for $10, and large bows for $50. Bows come in a variety of colors, each symbolizing something different, including gold bows in honor of a loved one; red bows in memory of a loved one; and silver bows in celebration of a caregiver.

In addition to the meaningful gesture of honoring loved ones, 100 percent of proceeds will benefit local cancer patients through the Glauser Oncology Fund’s Patient Advocacy program. This program helps patients by providing resources, care grants, advocacy and more. Bows will adorn trees across CoxHealth locations, including lobbies at Cox South and the Hulston Cancer Center.
