Dr. Shelby Hahn named program director of Cox Family Medicine Residency
Dr. Shelby Hahn has been named program director of the Cox Family Medicine Residency.
Dr. Hahn has been associated with the residency since 2007 when he joined the program as an intern. He served as chief resident during his final year of training, after which he joined the faculty and became the associate program director for residency education in 2014. Dr. Hahn has taken on other leadership roles throughout his time on the faculty, and helped expand the residency to Jordan Valley Community Health Center in 2021.
“We are very excited about Dr. Hahn’s willingness to serve in this role, and what it will mean for physicians who train through our residency,” says Dr. Shawn Usery, chief medical officer at CoxHealth. “His great depth of knowledge and experience position him for success in this role, which is augmented by his compassion and care for our patients.”
Dr. Hahn assumes his role from Dr. Kyle Griffin, who served as program director since 2014, and has decided to devote his time to training resident physicians.
“Dr. Griffin’s leadership has been invaluable to the program and CoxHealth as the residency really stepped up to meet the needs of our patients and the system,” says Usery. “We are grateful for his service, and are very glad that his expertise will still benefit future physicians through the residency.”
