Annual healthy food drive underway

CoxHealth's annual healthy food drive will be collecting healthy foods through Sept. 30.

Donations from this year's drive benefit a variety of charities. In Branson, they go to Christian Action Ministries; in Monett, to Monett Community Kitchen and Crosslines; and in Lamar, to Good Samaritan and First Christian Church in Golden City.

In Springfield, donations go to Crosslines, but ultimately benefit patients at CoxHealth's Family Medical Care Center. Physicians at the clinic are now able to diagnose patients with food insecurity and write them a "prescription" that may be redeemed at Crosslines for healthy food.

Construction officially begins at Cox Monett

Crews began pouring concrete at the site of the new Cox Monett hospital on Thursday. Crews are currently working on the concrete grade beams that will be the foundation for the clinic portion of the building. The new facility is scheduled to open in 2021.

Voice of the patient

"The 9th floor East staff was outstanding. I was generally grumpy and difficult and the staff did an amazing job putting up with me and making my hospital stay as positive as it could be."

Thank you for everything you do to support our patients and our community,

Steve
