CoxHealth continues effort to educate about tobacco, vaping use

We were very pleased with Springfield's recent passage of Tobacco 21, and CoxHealth continues to be committed to leading the charge in smoking cessation education. This new video is one all parents should see to understand the threat of vaping to our children. Our experts will be sharing facts about vaping at a free educational event hosted by Skaggs Foundation on August 8 in Branson. Reserve your seat at 269-INFO. Additionally,in conjunction with University of Massachusetts, CoxHealth is hosting a Tobacco Treatment Specialist Core Training in October to educate more health care professionals on evidence-based treatments for nicotine dependency.

CoxHealth at Home ribbon cutting celebrations

Ribbon cutting ceremonies are scheduled Monday, July 29 as Oxford HealthCare, Home Support and Home Parenteral Services officially become CoxHealth at Home. The events will also include a barbeque, live music, prizes and more. Join us at the Sunset branch, 2240 W. Sunset, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., or the Sunshine branch, 1550 E. Sunshine, from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.​

Telemedicine to enhance patient care at Cox Barton County Hospital

Cox Barton County Hospital will soon use telemedicine to provide physician care to its patients during the evening hours and weekends.The new technology will allow doctors to see, hear and speak with patients and their family members, and perform clinical examinations, via a monitor with the bedside assistance of nursing staff.

CoxHealth Auxiliary announces new allied health scholarship

CoxHealth Auxiliary is offering a scholarship program for employees seeking to further their careers as allied health professionals. The auxiliary scholarship pays 100 percent of costs for tuition, books and fees for up to 12 credit hours per semester and is available to any employee with at least five years employment with CoxHealth seeking a profession in 14 different allied health careers.

Patient thanks CoxHealth team that saved her life

Recently, our staff at the CoxHealth Diabetes Center helped to save the life of a patient who was in the office. After recovering, the patient came to a staff meeting to thank the team.
