Annual accreditation survey of Springfield operations a success
Surveyors from our accrediting agency DNV-GL completed an annual survey this week of CoxHealth operations in Springfield. The surveyors were very complimentary of our staff, our culture and patient care. Surveyors are expected at our Branson and Monett facilities in the coming weeks.
Cox Family Medicine residency announces class of 2022
Nine new resident physicians will join Cox Family Medicine Residency in 2019. The physicians, representing a variety of medical schools, will serve patients at the Family Medical Care Center, throughout CoxHealth and in the community.
Greene County polling site at Cox South
Based on the positive response from employees, patients and the community after the November election, Cox South will again serve as a central polling site for Greene County voters during the April 2 election. The polling site will be set up in Foster Auditorium from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
CoxHealth donates medical supplies, performs service project in Puerto Rico
CoxHealth has donated around $40,000 in medical products to a clinic in Puerto Rico that was damaged in Hurricane Maria. The supplies will be distributed to disabled and low-income individuals in the area. The CoxHealth team also worked to restore a home that was severely damaged during the storm. This project is an opportunity to give back to Puerto Rico, which has been such a great partner in recruiting new nurses from the island to join the CoxHealth team.
Cox Barton County Hospital earns national award for quality care
The CoxHealth hospital in Barton County has won the gold-level of the 2018 TMF Hospital Quality Improvement Award for quality initiatives that led to improved patient outcomes. Only 51 hospitals across the county earned this high designation.
CoxHealth employees, volunteer earn recognitions
Congratulations to Jann Holland, CoxHealth’s vice president of marketing and corporate communications, for being honored by Springfield Business Journal as top marketing executive in this year’s Dynamic Dozen awards. Kaitlyn McConnell, CoxHealth’s media relations manager, was recognized in SBJ’s 2019 40 Under 40 list of exceptional community members. Finally, a volunteer at Cox Medical Center Branson, 80-year-old Ralph Craig, has won southwest Missouri’s Jefferson Award for volunteerism. He will be representing Missouri at the national awards in Washington, D.C.
CoxHealth in the news
KY3/KSPR did a story about Cox College’s approval from the Missouri State Board of Nursing to train more nurses. The story was also covered by KOLR-10 and Ozarks Independent.
KOLR reported on CoxHealth’s visit to Puerto Rico for a service project.
KSN-TV Joplin reported on the construction of the new Cox Monett Hospital. The coverage was shared in Missouri Hospital Association’s Today’s Headlines.
The Monett Times ran a news release about Cox Monett maintaining its 5-star rating for patient experience.
