CoxHealth saves Medicare more than $2 million while improving care
CoxHealth’s Next Generation Accountable Care Organization (ACO) has been recognized for saving more than $2 million in its first performance year. ACOs are groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers that come together to provide coordinated, high-quality care to their Medicare Fee-for-Service beneficiaries. CoxHealth serves more than 15,000 Medicare beneficiaries through its ACO.
CoxHealth begins visitor restrictions due to flu
CoxHealth worked with the Greene County Health Department and Mercy to begin new restrictions on sick visitors to the hospital due to an increase in flu cases in the last few days. We are asking people who are sick with symptoms of upper respiratory illnesses, including cough, runny nose and fever, not to visit patients in any CoxHealth facility to reduce the spread of illness.
CoxHealth physician inducted into hall of fame
CoxHealth’s Dr. Patricia Dix, maternal and fetal medicine physician and CoxHealth board member, is being inducted into the Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame. Dr. Dix has served patients at CoxHealth for decades and will be honored during a ceremony April 17. The Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who demonstrated active civic engagement to improve the lives of others.
CoxHealth physician leads county physician group
Dr. Kayce Morton, CoxHealth Springfield Inpatient Physicians, has been elected as the new president of the Greene County Medical Society. Dr. Morton has a strong commitment to children and will make a tremendous impact in this role.
CoxHealth announces DAISY Award honorees
Five more CoxHealth nurses, two from Cox Monett Hospital, and three from Cox Medical Center Branson, have been recognized with the DAISY Award, a national recognition for extraordinary nursing care.
