Cox South welcomes first baby of 2020

The first baby born at Cox South in 2020 is a girl. Lucy Belle Law, daughter of Vivian and Bill Law, of Clever, was born at 2:54 a.m. on Jan. 1.

The timing of her birth was a bit of a surprise to her parents: At an appointment on Dec. 31, they were told they should simply go on to Labor and Delivery.

“Everything has been really great,” says Bill from the family's room at Cox South.

The CoxHealth Auxiliary presented the family with a gift basket in celebration of the first birth of the new year. The basket contained a large brown teddy bear; small bear rattle; baby manicure set; brag book; first, tooth, curl, birth certificate holder; "Goodnight Moon" book; Solvey all-natural baby products, including conditioner, bath soap, surface cleaner, hand cleaner and dish soap.

Also included were gifts for the new mom: A tote bag filled with a Sherpa throw, bath oils and lotions gift set , and a gift card from the Auxiliary/Gift Shop.
