It’s a pain-free study to measure your circulation. Electrodes, similar to EKG patches, are placed on your skin. The results of this study inform the physician of your ability to heal and the best treatments options for you. The results are then sent to the physician who referred you to our center. If you’re a patient of our center, this test may be requested by one of your providers. What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy? During hyperbaric oxygen therapy, you breathe 100 percent oxygen while in an acrylic, see-through chamber that’s pressurized to greater than one atmosphere (sea level). This delivers oxygen quickly in high concentrations to injured areas of your body through your blood stream, stimulating new blood vessel growth and increasing oxygenation. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can stop certain types of infection and enhance wound healing, including diabetic foot ulcers, radiation damage and failing surgical flaps.Treatments are typically Monday through Friday for two hours each day. Depending on the diagnosis, treatments can last between four and eight weeks. What kind of post-discharge healing process can I expect? Once your wound closes, it may take weeks to months for it to heal completely. Our team educates you on the measures to keep your wounds closed. We’re always here to assist you.
